Whitewater Park in Bardstown!?
Landesco, PLLC is scheduled to meet with Spalding Hurst, president of Bardstown Boaters, to discuss future plans for a Whitewater Park in Bardstown, Kentucky.
Bardstown Boaters is a whitewater paddling and water conservation group residing in Bardstown, yet actively paddling in many other States. Initial attempts were made to bring this dream to reality as far back as 2006. Now, the group aims to put their research and ideas together to bring the park to life.
The Whitewater park would not only create another outlet for adventure tourism in Kentucky, but increase security at the Beech Fork River’s gravel dam, which was originally built in 1928. Landesco’s founder, David Kulsveen, has experience with this type of park conceptualizing a plan for Owenton, KY back in 2007. Like the “Outdoor Adventure Park” proposed in Ownenton, Bardstown Boater’s goal is to not only lure paddlers, but other outdoor enthusiasts as well. The idea is to provide trails for hiking/biking and horse riding, camping facilities, outdoor seating and a concession area for special events.
